Devin Brown has signed with the Hornets, not that it was much of a surprise to Cavs fans that he wouldn’t be returning:
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Hornets have called a news conference and a team source tells the Associated Press that Devin Brown will rejoin the team.
The Cavaliers signed Brown, who was a free agent, in 2007.
The Hornets will announce Brown’s signing Friday afternoon.
During the 2006-07 season with the Hornets, Brown averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
The 6-foot-5 Brown can play both guard positions as well as small forward.
Brown fills the void created by Jannero Pargo leaving to play in Russia.
It’s pretty quiet on the NBA front in terms of signings. Most of the focus will shift towards Olympic competition as the last few names on the free agent market seem to be ironing out details on deals, or headed towards taking a qualifying offer.
Jannero Pargo, who provided a lot of scoring off the bench in a reserve role for the New Orleans Hornets could be headed to San Antonio.
The Spurs spent the lion’s share of their mid-level exception to sign former Washington guard Roger Mason Jr. — another Bartelstein client — earlier this summer. The team still has a $1.9 million biannual exception at its disposal, a small bump past the $1.08 million Pargo would have earned next season in New Orleans had he not opted out of his contract.

James Posey is not coming home. The Celtics forward/guard got the 4th year he was looking for, and is joining Chris Paul and Hornets in a role that will have them back amongst the Western Conference favorites.
